3rd gen rear brake question

i know that there are kits available out there that allow you to change your rear drums to disk but is there any way that the late model tundra rear disk brakes might b able to be retrofitted in some way or are they to big bc the tundra has 18" wheels stock?

Do the 4th gen 4runners have rear disks?

I'm thinking that a 4th gen 4runner might be a better place to start. The Tundra had leaf spring rear suspension. I am assuming that it's an 8" Toyota and you could use an e-locker on it.

Using old chevy calipers you can get rear disks with ebrake

The 4th gen 4Runners have the e-brake separate to the caliper.
It would be awesome to get the system to work, but it might be a bit much.
I am actually thinking myself to go with the chevy calipers.
I use to be all Toyota, but if it works it works.

Heck, I have a filter originally designed for a ford filtering the oil in my Toyota.
Good luck with your final decision...

I just did the Tundra front brake upgrade on my '97, man what a differance!! That being said I am going to convert the rears to disc using brackets and the stock toyota front calipers and rotors. I hope to do this the beginning of January. Has anybody else done this?

Vented rears? hmm. It would be cool if it worked, might be a little overkill, and because they are a two piston caliper, the brake proportioning valve maybe be no good, so you may need to switch to an adjustable.
