3rd gen. license plate lights dead
I just realized my license plate lights are dead. I pulled off the hatch panel and checked all the connections and all fuses related to the hatch. Everything seems proper but they won't light up (and yes, I replaced the bulbs just in case)
Any ideas?

You may need to get a multi meter to check for voltage on the wire.
Worst case you can run a new power wire from the tail lamps to the LP lights to make em work again.

be cautious of takign ti somewhere.... electrical diagnosis is one of those areas where a shady shop will charge you for 3 hours, do nothing (not even touch the car) and say they tried and still couldnt find the problem..... then not much you can do at that point except pay them, if you refuse, they can lien hold your truck!

all your fuses are good right? if they are, get a multimeter, and see if you are getting a reading inside the bulb socket. standard voltage on cars is ~12V i think (correct me if im wrong) also, see if u get a reading at the fuse block. if you are getting a reading at the block but not at the bulb socket, then u know the problem is between the block and the bulb. just keep working your way towards to the lights, and you will prob run into a bad connection or something.

At the very least you can pull off the interior panel for the hatch and have a look in there. That will give you enough room to probe the wires for power. You may also need to pull down the headliner to get access to the wires further up inside the truck.
