Yeah I was talking about nailing the gas holding it in and having enough torque and hp to lift the front end off of the ground as you are accellerating away - that takes a LOT of power..

Holy cow! So they had a mechanism under "Dom's" (dads) car to make it do a wheelie? I never knew that!

I thought that thing really had that much power, seriously.

(that is what I am seeing under there, right?)

its a predicitablity issue, it COULD have had enough power, but haveing exactly the right conditions, the driver dumps it right, the pavement is the right temp etc, means you dont want to have to do a 100 takes to get the shot, so they "help" it some

A "wheelie bar" keeps you from doing too much of a wheelie . . . . like I almost did on an FZR 600 once. I had a friend in high school that had a '67 Firebird with a 400 that had been tweeked as well as a clutch that took both feet to push it in. That car did wheelies! A guy in my office claims he has a similar vintage camaro that's putting out 800 hp.

I never saw a "wheelie bar" that helps a wheelie. Only in the movies . . . wait what about hydraulics and air bags!

Oops . . . I forgot this thread was about the 3.slow. Just for interest sake . . my 5 cylinder 3.slow recently did 90 mph on the freeway and on my last tank of gas I got 14.8 mpg! Not bad on 5 cylinders!!

No, it can and does happen on the track. Particularly if they dont have a wheelie bar. I know this for a fact as I have personally watched a grand national lift the front tires about 3' off of the ground or so.

The above picture explains a lot typical of the joke of movies F&F. "Double clutching?" someone should seriously slap the director! Then to wreck a vintage charger even if only a kit car?  If anything the supra should have died....

Correct me if I'm wrong. You got more mileage running 5 cylinders rather than 6?

I was usually getting 16 to 19mpg before I lost the #4 to a burned exhaust valve (O compression). Now I figure it's just sucking air and fuel in and then pushing it out. So, unburned fuel in the exhaust reduces mileage. I just think it's funny how well the truck runs on 5.

So, what kind of times does that Tacoma run? Mmmmm . . . big turbo . . . big intercooler . . .

Whoa. More of that Taco?

Lots of high-hp RWD vehicles do that. But it's not exactly what you WANT to do. It sure doesn't help your times any. Just makes it look like you were too dumb to install wheelie bars.

ehhehehe and its cool as hell!! lol

Kinda like tuning your subwoofer SPL box to a low tuning frequency. Everyone cant get enought of the massive bass of everything shaking. But put that against a high tunes SPL box and it will get murdered...lol
