3.4 lower intake plentum
I seen a pic on minitruckin web site that someone had done away with the lower plentum and put the upper on to the intake with the upper plentum spun around with the tb facing the driver side ? I wonder if the bolt hole will line up or not . I can't remember what they look like off the top of my head ? but I wonder what this would do to performance ???? rob the low end maybe ? anyone seen this done .

I can't share the sight on my phone but if you type minitruckin on ol faithful google and go to pics its the first truck. I know my motors its a 3.4, it said it was done by some machine shop so I'd say it was a pain in the butt to do

On a 3.4, I think it would be pretty pointless, considering you would have to swap the battery to the other side, and extend the wiring for the MAF. Sort of the opposite of guys doing the battery/intake swap on a 22re, or if someone were to swap a 3.4 into an older model pickup. On a custom lowered mini truck, I suppose it would be one more cool little mod that not many people would be doing just to set you apart.

Is this the one you are talking about?

If so, that changes my thinking. I thought you were asking about rotating the entire upper and lower plenum to fit facing this way, which would require some machine work. However, the split portion between the upper and lower plenum use the same gasket, so I'm assuming that in theory, it would work. But again, it would be one of those things you could to just to set your truck out from everyone else's.
If you look at this link, they did the same on this 3.4 4runner. In the specs, they say they used an adapter to mount it this way for hood clearance for the body drop.

yea it says it it to bring the height down 3 or so inches I believe if said , so I guess it really wouldn't do anything but look similar to the 3.slow lol it might slow the velocity of the air down with the shorter runner in the 2k and under range ??? maybe and thank you 250000 yota for posting that cause I couldn't

Ya I don't think there would be any real performance gain other than in the higher rpms, which isn't where the engine is designed to run anyways. They only did it for the clearance issues

Only reason I could see to do this would be to shorten the stupidly long factory runners. But personally this should only be done if you have boost, if you have boost then a replenumed manifold would make more sense and more power.
