Have any of you did a 3.01 KZ-TE or 1KD-FTV turbo diesel swap? If so how much is the engine? And how much you guys willing to pay for one if I can get it ?? Just checking because I am really interested to do it myself and I might be going to Japan for "junkyard" shopping in 3 weeks time, but I have not finalize it.

I looked into this but decided a 1UZ was a better route to take.

 

I've seen half-cuts on ebay and such for about half the price thats listed on that site. Still a bit pricey in my mind. But if you're engine and tranny are dead and you have to replace them anyway, whats another grand or two for a badass Toyota diesel that was meant for your truck?

I've got a 1KZT 3.0 Turbo Diesel in my 1999 4Runner (Factory engine) BUT.... this truck is in Central America (Nicaragua).... and diesel engines are MUCH more common here than gas burners.
