Your best bet would be to find a truck with a 22r-te (Toyotas factory 22r/e turbo motor) , and swaping the motor over along with everthing else. The engine compression is lower , and well it would be a pain to do it any other way or more like way to expensive.
You can find wrecks or parts trucks for cheap , and this would be the smartest way to go IMO.

OH- I should also tell you that this is a VERY involved job , and the wiring can be quite the chore- you are going from a carb to EFI & Turbo(have fun).

Weldpro is right. If you plan on doing a turbo 22RE then it will be in your best interest to find a factory turbo engine, computer, and wiring harness. Correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe you can find the 22R-TE in 86-87 4x4 pickups. I know that the tranmission out of the turbo trucks is very desirable because it is noteably stronger than other Toyota models. I have also herd that the turbocharger housing is prone to cracking if it has high milage. I know that the 22R-TE has about 145 HP compared to a normally aspirated 22RE which has 116HP. My advice would be to try and find the whole truck. Having the entire vehicle on hand will make the swap less of a hassle. The turbo trucks are very rare and finding one in a bone yard that isn't already stripped might be tough. Good luck.
