$13,500 too much for 99 4x4? (with 100k warrenty)
seems bluebook for this truck on www.kbb.com is abou 11,500. this guy is asking 13,500 for a 1999 white 4x4 5 speed extracab with the 2.7 its absolutely perfect and seems to drive a little better than all of the ones i have looked at. it is certified by toyota and has a warrenty up to 100k miles (currently has 50k miles)
i know its a bit more than what it should be i guess, but im wondering if its worth the hassle to try and finaggle this guy down on the price and if so how much i should try to push it w/o pissing him off
thanks
oh, one more thing i forgot to add, 11,500 is private party price and 13,600 is what one should expect from a dealer

check out the "True Market Value" pricing on edmunds.com as I think they give a more accurate value than kbb since they take into consideration various other factors.
Since it is certified (make sure it's transferable), you can expect a $1k-3k adjustment. Since it is certified for anohter 50K miles...I would guess on the high side.

I was shopping at Toyota dealerships for 3rd gen 4Runners and I ran into several that "qualified" for certification. The dealer would then add $2-3k on the price depending upon the mileage.
Basically, it's the cost of the extended waranty if you bought it new plus a little more for "examining" the vehicle. One salesman told me it was basically 10% of the vehicle's value.

sorry for the stupid question but 99 extracab you are taking Tacoma here? if so then I would negotiate a lower price, the dealer still makes money if he lets it go a private party value.
