HIrunner's 2nd Gen 4Runner Build-Up Thread

Picked this up...yes only 1 before pic. I can produce better colors in my toilet than what it is now.

The original asking price was $3000, I loled. Got it for $1800.

What it had when I got with it:
Flowmaster exhaust
AC
Rear power window
A crap paint job
And about 20 bottle openers
A CD player that doesn't work
2 Main engine seal leaks, head gasket leaks, power steering leaks, and I'll probably find more.

But hey, on the bright side, fresh tires, new brake pads, and a crap load of gay stickers I had to take off.

Phase 1# Leaks
Weekend 1# 9-5-09 to 9-6-09:
Power washed and degreased engine bay, chasis, and everything else.
Began work on replacing leaking gasket and timing belt.
~Removing drive shafts, ready to drop tranny.
~Removed battery, radiator, ready to remove belts.

Had a friend helping me out, thank god. Will be replacing all tranny seals since its down anyways.

Phase 2# Paiiiiint
Here is the color scheme I came up with. I'll be painting the chrome trimming on my fenders to white. Don't mind the green, its just to make all the colors stand out from the background.

Phase #3. After paint, mild lift. I won't be crawling so I will not be doing an SAS.

A 4" suspension lift and 2" body lift is my goal. Tires, I want 35x16 Swampers. I really need help with the suspension lift. Money is a bit of an issue, so I'll be buying using rims and tires, but lifts are pricy. Any recomendations on cheap lifts?

I was thinking about picking up theses tires...http://www.forumshawaii.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=542548. You think I'd need the 4" suspension lift and 2" body lift to get them in? Whats the smallest lift I could get away with to get absolutely no rub? I don't mind a bit of trimming.

And I can only work on this on weekends. I'm only a junior in highschool. I got my NAVY and ABS welding cerfitication welds before I even got my permit, I can arc and tig weld. I plan on making my own bumbpers, similar to these: http://www.shrockworks.com/Toyota-4R...-pr-16217.html

Welcome to the site man. Looks like like you got it all figured out, and it's pretty cool that you got your welding certifications before you even got your permit.

Thanks. Only thing I'm still a bit fuzzy on his how much lift I want. As of now, its just getting those 35s to fit with no rub and still have some clearance, while keeping my pockets in mind.
