conrad's 1993 4Runner Build-Up Thread
Bought this in June 2009 with 150k original miles, bone stock except for black steel wheels and 31x10.50's. Had a nasty timing chain rattle and some bad oil leaks when I picked it up. Took care of those problems about a week later with a new timing chain set with metal guides and all new front gaskets. Been building up over the past year...

Got OME 900's installed along with OME N72F Nitrochargers. I originally was running the OME 900's with nothing up front, but it had too much of a rake for my taste.
Right after the install with 4Crawler 4" panhard drop bracket installed. Still running 31's at this point.

Time for some 33'sx12.5's! Went with the BFG A/T's since it's my daily driver. Kept the wheels (15x8), I believe the offset is 3.75.

The motor is pretty well stock, and it will probably stay that way. If I really want more power in the future I'll do the 5VZ swap. Right now I'm at 163k miles.
The interior is stock, plain gray with manual everything. I added a oil pressure gauge and a voltmeter, but I think I'm going to take them out.
Spare tire and tire ratchet assembly removed. Now with the 33's.

The OME 900's were $140 and the OME shocks were $140 from http://trdparts4u.com/
It's a great combination, levels the truck out well and provides more than enough room for 33's.

This showed up in the mail today! 1" body lift from 4Crawler - I got the HD hardware (probably overkill), the ultimate (oversize) blocks, black color, and bumper relocation kit . I'm not much of a body lift fan but the benefits outweighed the negatives on such a small lift.. Getting to the top bolts on the bell housing will be much easier, etc.
I'll post pics after I get it on and a small writeup on the install.

Things just keep showing up in the mail - Energy Suspension front sway bar bushings. I've decided to keep the swaybar on for now being it's my daily driver. My original bushing started squeaking on every bump I went over and it got irritating, especially off the pavement.
The kit is 8.5114G for anyone interested. It comes with all the bushings for the front swaybar. The parts are real high quality as far as I can tell. Everything was a perfect fit and it came with installation grease. Installation is easy.
Hopefully the body lift will be installed tomorrow!

awesome build and awesome truck, love the lift and amazed of the low price of the lift. I just picked up a 93 and researching all that I can. Subbed your build thread keep up the awesome work.

The torsion bars are at stock ride height, I didn't adjust them at at.
No, the rear shocks were around $140 dollars. I'm still running stock shocks in the front, I'm going to be replacing them with OME's soon. Surprisingly, the stock shocks had enough travel that they didn't limit the down travel after the BJ spacer install, which was nice.

the stance is perfect, and the price is even better. Planing the exact same lift with 33's on black wheels. I have a white 93, thanks for the help.
