Bugzuki's Build 91Ext Cad SR5 4x4
I am just getting started on the truck. I actually got the truck earlier this year and have worked on it a little to get it running.
Here is what I have done so far:
- Replaced the broken out door and rear wing windows
- Converted the door windows to full windows to get rid of the front wings
- Installed 4Runner mirrors
- Fix the door lock mechanisms to lock and unlock correctly and so the auto unlock works
- Got keys, it did not come with them.
- Adjusted the throttle cable
- Put the front passenger side axle shaft back in the differential
- Made Toyota correct the recall for the steering system
- New Alpine stereo - no a really expensive one, the amp that was installed works good, still needs rear speaker and new front spekers
- Major clean up- glass, nasty seat cover and a ton of trash
- oil change and tune up
All the tires were mismatched 31 incher, I just found a matching set of 31s to put on until I can lift the truck. Then I put this ones on my aerostar project.
This week I am working on:
- New clutch
- New front brake pads
- New front windshield and rear slider
- Supra LSD for the rear
- New oil pan gasket
Some pictures to come.

Ok, I got some pictures.
Here is the truck the way I got it.
All the windows were broken, cracked or totally shattered:
You can also see that the PO ran into a red post or something.
The engine was in supprisingly good shape. I guess it had a leaky water pump for a long time. But, never got fixed. That was one of the first projects.
The inside was a complete mess, but it was still in supprisingly good condition. I guess all the mess keep the stuff nice.
Finally some underneath pics:

One-Piece Window Conversion
One of the first projects to get the truck on the road was replace the door windows.
I hated the wing windows and the position of the mirrors, so I converted then to One-Piece. I could not find any white doors with one-piece electric windows.
Here is what I started with:
Remove the junky mirrors. The driverside mirror was pretty good, but the passenger side was busted off.
Here I am removing the wing window. I threw all this stuff in the recycling, so sorry if you needed something.
Installed new Window and motor mechanism:
Put on the new 4Runner mirror:
I still have to weld up the original mirror holes. I will do that this week while the truck is in the shop.
I also have to find some new door panels. The originals don't have the inside scrapper that goes all the way to the front.
That will also give me the opportunity to move the speakers, since they hit the new front window rail.
