Bandito's Build-up: 1993 4Runner 4x4.
Well Bandito here, a newbie to the forums and about to start my first Toyota 4x4 build. I recently sold my 2003 Tacoma Prerunner in hopes of finding a older (80's) 4Runner. My search led me to this 1993 4Runner.

The price was good and everything was looking up. As soon as I could I took off these lame super chrome wheels along with the running boards, passenger window trim things, and rear bumper, and sprung for some black polished steel rims and new 31 BFG All Terrains. I am very pleased with this new look.

Now to deal with that infamous rear sag early model 4Runners are known for. I just order new bilstein HD shocks for the rear and front, and Old Man Emu springs for the back. Once they come in I will upload pictures of the install and the results.
Also after driving this beast around a bit more, it will need a new starter and rebuild which wont be cheap. Oh well, I don't plan on parting ways with this beauty for some time.
In the works is going to be a rear bumper, front bumper (still not sure what to do there, ideas welcomed), also a CB radio with antenna on the rear bumper or magnetic attachment on the top, and a front light bar for some KC's or pro-comp lights, with all of this is I would love some suggestions for or links to related threads.
I am very excited, not to mention honored, to be a part of this wonderful online toyota community.

Welcome, glad you took off those ugly chrome wheels, don't really know why anyone would put those on a 4x4 in the first place.. any ways, truck looks sick, love the red with black rims.

Thank you everyone.
Sadly I just noticed a leak from my rear main seal. The previous owner never did a rebuild. Looks like thats where my next paychecks are going. Also the standard new timing belt and water pump. Not to mention a new starter
oh well.
