the only time a supra maf would alow more air then the stock ecu might be able to handle MIGHT i say again is under full throttle conditions. and only if supercharged. if not supercharged there would be no problem using a supra MAF.
there is No way that a supra maf alone would let more air into the engine then a stock maf and supercharger.
the main reason for using a Supra MAF would be throttle response. not horsepower especially if you where supercharged. less restriction in intake = faster throttle response same as moving the stock maf up next to the TB. the restriction is then right next to the TB so it takes less time for the AIR MASS to Transmit suction past the Restriction
