Up for sale is an auto climate controller from a 99++ and up limited 4runner. Was mu little project part for my runner. Will be great for anyone who try to convert your manual climate control system to the 99++ limited auto climate control system Asking $45 shipped.

What's need to be done in order to get the manul one upgraded? any additional parts involved? OR it's just wires hook-up?

Can you PM me some pics also?

I looked into this 3 years ago. You need about $800-1000 in parts, in addition to that controller

You will need a few more parts to do this....inner and outer temp sensors, wire harness, I think 3 different motors to control the air distribution system. You will need a donor truck to do this. Some junkyard doesn't care and stock the interior parts, if you can find those yard it will be cheap to do this mod.

Bump for ya, and kind of a hi-jack. I've got a complete heater core/box that includes the controller motors and the interior temp sensor from a '99 Limited Runner. I'd sell it for $55 plus shipping.

I have not done the research to do this conversion so take this with a grain of salt. The things that I "think" you will need are as follows. Wiring harness, outside temp sensor (this is the one that mounts on the dash). I can't think of anything else. Might look at a wiring diagram to see if it touches anything else.

I realize it's been a while since you posted that message but if by chance you still have it, I'm very interested. My 99 has got an issue and the control unit needs to be replaced.

Thanks!
Jeff

I think you will need a few electric motors to operate the vents and such since the manual versions obviously don't have them.
