side of tire indicates 65 max psi..is it best to run max for daily on road driving for best wear/mileage purposes?
What's a good psi for moderate offroading...SoCal style, not huge boulders or deept mud?
thx

50 psi is about what my friends run with theirs. If it a pickup and you usually dont carry any weight in the bed then run like 40. Ive seen a lot of people run too much air on their pickups and the inside of the tire wears down.

So are you saying 40 or 50 psi is not too much? That sounds really high.
Depends on tire and vehicle but these are light vehicles. Max pressure is for holding the max load the tire is rated for. 65 psi would be for a 10,000 pound vehicle so no don't run the max.
4Crawler's link explains it perfectly.
