15 x 8 RIMS GOOD OR BAD?
I just picked-up a nice set of used 15x8 American Racing aluminum rims for my "stock" 1990 Toyota Ext Cab PU 4x4 3.0 V6 (lock-out hubs). These rims are kinda deep with the offset measuring -31mm/3.25". I'm looking at getting either 31x10.50R 15 LT or 30x9.50R 15LT tires.
Should I have any concerns with the width/offset of the 15x8 rims? I've heard that excessively wide rims/tires with too much offset will add too much stress to the drivetrain/suspension. Comments?? Thanks

you'll be fine with either or tire size as long as they fit in the wheel wells and they'll probly put a lil more stress on the tie rod ends but i wouldnt worry about it. btw whats the gearing in your truck? is it geared low or high?

Thanks for the info. I'll have to find the gearing. Seems to rev pretty low when on the highway, so I'd guess that its on the lower side of gearing. Thanks again!!!

Thanks! The offset is -31 mm, which I understand means that they are -31mm off the "center" of the rim. If I measure the distance from the inside of the rim to the lug mounting plate, it's 3.25". Hopefully that's not too shallow??
