Affordable Fridges

I'm looking for a new fridge for this year.

Corey, I know you have the ARB one and that thing rocks but I can't afford it unfortunately.

I bought a cheap Black & Decker last year that worked ok, but its already starting to die after very few uses (dust getting inside the motor area). It's not that great at keeping stuff cool to begin with.

Example:

Is it possible to find a decent fridge for less than a $100?

I would keep your eyes open for a used ARB like mine or the Engel 45 which is the same size.
Both are the same unit, but ARB has the temp gauge on the controls so you know what temp it is.

Problem with the cheaper units out there is they will drain your battery in one day.
It is like leaving your headlamps on, the draw way to many amps.

I did read that in one of your posts, and that does suck. THe only good thing thing about the B&D is that it does turn off if the battery is becoming drained. That actually happened a few times and found out my battery pretty much sucks and needs to be replaced.

I will check CraigsList for some options

I've seen them go for $349. This one is 449. but I have heard good things about these Eddge stars. The only draw back is they have a higher amp draw than the Engle's, ARB's. 5 amps compared to 3.5.

Still not a bad deal for trips where you are starting the rig once a day.
