Not in along time. Those engines are getting harder to find. The performance gas guys buy up the blocks. Alot beefier than the gas motors. If I remember correctly they did have cylinder head issues. Not strong enough for the increase in compression that the diesel requires.

When I was an Olds guy, I was always on the lookout for those blocks. Do not waste your time with that Olds diesel. The bellhousing is BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) pattern and it will not fit small/big block Chevy bellhousings and all adapters are for Chevy blocks. Your best bet is to find a different engine. Sell the Olds engine on Racing Junk. Die hard Olds guys love them.

the 4.3 olds diesels were good and flaws were fixed for the most parts, the 5.7 ones were junk and most blew up unless it weas a highway vehicle, stop and go didnt last long

hmmm I had an 83 ???? Cutlass with the gas 4.3 in it, is that the "same" block? If so, when I changed the trans out in it from the TH200 ??? I slapped a TH350 from a SBC into it and did not have to change the bellhousing.

not sure about the block pattern on the 4.3 diesel compared to gas, i would imagine it would be the same as the big brother but you know what they say about ASSuming

you and me. i think its the same as the 5.;7 diesel. a 4.3 d would be a sweet little motor with a turbo but finding one these days that is still in good shape is like trying to find bigfoot riding a unicorn
