Made the motor mounts and got to mount the engine today.
I really didnt want to takke the mounts to a shop and have them welded so I did it myself , I hope they hold , all I have is a 110v wire welder put it on high and used .35 wire.
I am not a professional fabricator and really just a beginner at welding(2yrs self tought).Do you guys think they will hold I used 3/8 plate .I know the welder says only up to 5/16th but oh well I did it.
I also started to use a grinder on the welds to try and make them look nice but half way thru decided to not do it.
I just might buy a new welder and make new mounts for now lets see what happens.

Nice touch with the Lexus gauges! That gauge set looks pretty good.

Did you go through and replace all the gaskets like oil pan, valve cover, and stuff like that while you had the engine out? You shoudl have. Also, the power steering lines leak on those, you should have replaced those too.

Hey...what are you doign with the LS400? My friend needs the LCD from the climate control. Does yours work? Want to sell it?

so tonight I was able to route my new harness thru all that stuff behind the dash , took a little bending here and there but its in, also worked on connecting more wires .
Connecting the 4runner rheostat to the new gauges ,seatbelt light, fuel sender, and a few other things I cannt remember right now.
So heres where I left off.
I really dont know where im putting the computer theres no room for it , I may just put it in the glove box but well see .

I cant wait to see what this beast looks like when its done. The wiring is why I would never be able to swap an engine. God forbid my poor little 2.7 ever blow up one day. lol. I'd end up throwing a carb'd motor in it.

Looks like they messed up your order a little bit. What mods do you have to do to the radiator? Bolt mounting holes?

This radiator is meant to be mounted from the top and bottom , I am going to get some flat aluminum welded to the sides so i can use the original radiator mounting holes on the drivers side then put some on the passanger sid e.

Also the in and outs are to long Im going to see about putting some 90* bends in them.
Check out the pic i added of the radiator in the truck.

So I went to the junk yard and got a fuel hose from an sc 400 so I can use it to connect my exsisting fuel line in the runner (passanger side) to the small section I am installing from the ls 400 to the driver side. You can use the hose from the 3.0 but I sold the engine with the hose attached and the xtra one I had I sold it , Dummy Me !!
Today I also installed a brake booster and master cylinder from a 1992 4runner along with the brake lines from the 92.
I also ran 2 sections of hard line ( from Ls 400 ) along the fire wall so I can get the fuel lines to the driver side .
I also cut the flanges off the sc 400 manifolds.
Last week I ordered some manifolds for a tundra of ebay but they are not here yet I am going to see how much trouble it will be to use the sc manifolds.

I also installed the ls 400 throttle cable.

Lucky you to be able to find a Lexus in the junk yard. Must be a wealthy place you are living in. Cause around here its hard enough to find good toyotas! I see what you mean with the radiator. Did you get all the wiring done, and did you have any extra wires that didn't have a home? Any wires you weren't totally sure about? Keep up the good work.

Really This is the first sc ive seen there and the only reason I went was because a guy that came to buy parts from my ls 400 told me he saw the sc and the junkyard .

There was some wires that I did not hook up but nothing that was needed ( I hope )stuff like abs ,light failure , just a bunch of thinks like that.I still need to connect 2 power and 2 ground wires a under tha dash and that should be it for the wiring.Oh except for the 4wd light I will use the trac light in the ls cluster for that, but when i install the tranny a i will finish that.

Question about fuel and brake lines do you know if the lines use 45 degree double flare ends , i need to buy a flaring tool but am unsure which to buy .

I do believe they are double flares but am unsure if they are 45 degree also.

thanks !!

The stock fuel pump may not be able to deliver enough fuel, btw.

It was designed to feed a 150hp engine, and you're now inserting a powerplant that makes at least 250hp.

It'll work to get you fired up and most of the kinks worked out, but keep an eye open for lean conditions under load when you take it to the road/trail.

Thanks for the reply, I have read a few threads where they are using the 3.0 pump , but they never really updated the threads to say how well the 3.0 pump did work.

I guess I really see no reason why not to put the ls 400 pump in the 4runner, i guess thats one more thing to add to the list.

Thanks Again.

I bet that list doesn't seem to ever get any smaller! I may have missed it but what are you doing about the transfer case? Still using the stock one that came with the 4Runner? Adapter? Thanks
