VSS issues
So i'm throwing a code P0500, which is the VSS sensor. It's not hooked up at all, so i know exactly why. My issue is that from the looks of it my 92 Sensor is a three wire and the 98 wiring is... I'm thinking it's just two. How do I hook it up?

Take the one from your 92 case and put it in the 98 case.
thats what I did.

I'm using the 92 4x4 trans. So the sensor doesn't need to be swapped out or anything. So The wiring that runs down to the tranny those wires cannot be used. Now are these signal wires coming directly off the ECU or the old DASH Harness 3.0 side. I know when i did my documentation I wrote down the following...
92 3.0 4x4 Manual Wiring
Connector C1 Pin 20. green / light blue = SPD
Connector C2 Pin 13. green /blue = Speed Sensor 2 (Combo Meter)
Connector C2 Pin 19. green / red = Speed Sensor 3 (Combo Meter)
92 3.0 4x4 Manual Wiring
Connector C1 Pin 20. green / light blue = SPD
Connector C2 Pin 13. green /blue = Speed Sensor 2 (Combo Meter)
Connector C2 Pin 19. green / red = Speed Sensor 3 (Combo Meter)

I dont see why you would need to alter anything then unless somehow you interrupted the vss wires in the kickpanel or somewhere else. Is anything unplugged?

i think i couldn't find the Sensor 2 and 3 in the 3.4 wiring. So it looks like i need to grab everything off the dash wiring side 3.0, and run a new harness to the sensor. Which looks like what you did.
Always something. =) The Never Ending Project.

i have the sensor wired directly to the old locations. which was listed above. i have the sensor wire which is b/o spliced and forked off to the ECM. i'm using obdwiz with my elm5 and it's not pulling the electronic speedo on the laptop. So i will have to view this again... i need to re-read your post on your page. As far as the gauge goes it works fine.

okay I've been reading past post, and I guess UKrunner made some kind of pic chip pulse generator to fix this issue. now if Ukrunner can shed some light on this.

I am using the 3.0 speedo, not the 3.4.
I wish i could be more helpful but my thread probably has better info than my brain as my memory has faded since then. I have been racking my brain while reading this thread trying to remember; I havent been ignoring it.
I think that I remember that I ran the vss wires to the existing vss wires in the kick panel and then that got the speedo working i think. Then there is a wire that goes from the speedo to the ECM

So, your speedo works but the signal is lost to the ecu? Why not try using a new wire temporarily connected from the speed input in your speedo to the ecu speed input? Sounds like a broken wire or wrong connection to me.

Also, in those diagrams above, all the pins match. So pin 1 of the '92 speed sensor should be wired exactly as pin 1 of the '98 speed sensor is.
Its gotta be a problem after the speedo if the speedo is working.

got it working... woot woot! i was doing it wrong, stressing out too much, I just needed to slow down a bit and back track a little.
c1 pin 20 green/light blue 3.0dash goes to
3.4 ecu plug D PIN 12 - green/orange ... now it works...
the vss sensor needs to be wired into the three inputs located in the c2 dash connector on the 3.0 side.
vss goes as the following.
C2 - Pin 8 - black/orange --- speed sensor 1
C2 - Pin 13 - green/light blue --- speed sensor 2
C2 - Pin 19 - green/red --- speed sensor 3

Cool. Glad you got it!
Ahhhhhh....another uTorrent user
What kind of hardware do you need to use that OBDwiz software?
I was thinking of buying the REV dongle to gather real time data via my iPhone, but havent got anything as of yet.
