Using a 2wd 3.4 harness
I should probably start in the build section but I bought a 93 4runner auto for 700 stones that has a light bottom end knock, I priced rebuilding it and said forget it.
I bought a 3.4 with harness complete with 119K on it for 300 bucks 4runner was hit in the side hard so it was a total loss.
My question I'm using a 2wd harness are the 4wd plugs going to be absent for the t-case or are they taped to the harness underneath. The motor is being delivered to my garage today and I didn't pull it or even think to check.
I already have a 97 4wd t100 computer so I told them to leave the ecu behind. I realized this error this morning so if Ineed to get a harnesss for a 4wd its going to suck because I'll have to go to the junk yard and pull it myself.

Appreciate it, but if it doesn't have the wiring I'll add it to the 2wd harness. Plus I'm using an Auto and I want the correct shift points so I'm marrying the job to a T100 ECU.

Homework oh yes.... spent 5 hrs in 2 nights researching, found an 85 straight axle complete in carolina for 300. so next project and I haven't even signed the title.
I own an auto repair shop so this is all second nature. First setback junkyard pulled a 94 gold yota on accident I almost said leave it but asked for them to check one more time and sure enough no extra charge and a 97 2wd here I come...

I used a 3.4 auto 2wd harness for my swap. I'm using a manual trans though. There should only be 5 wires in the transfer case. 3 for the speedometer( if its electronic of course) and 2 for the 4x4 indicator light. If you can get it running you can figure these simple ones out.

Jason thanks a ton. I figured there wouldn't be to much if worst has it there are 5-6 96-99 4runners out there and they all have transmissions in them.
