Off Road Solution is back in business!!!!

Just got a reply from Mike at ORS via email saying that they're starting to accept new orders now, and that anyone is free to email him at his old ORS email!!

Here is his exact reply:

"Kevin,

Thanks for the kind words.˟ We started to re-offer our entire engine swap and harness line this year.˟ We are working on some web and product updates, we'll make a formal announcement at that time.˟ In the meantime we've just been answering incoming requests via email.˟ If you'd like to announce this on Yotatech you are very welcome to do so, thank you."

I think these are GREAT news!! Lets spread the word so we can help Mike start his business back!!

Well, keeping in mind that they had to CLOSE while having great sales, I would expect a price reevaluation, but not a discount.

Would you mind posting his old email? Is it the sales@offroadsolutions.com?

Didn't they used to make the 22r - 22re conversion harness?

Cool news. Very pleased with my engine swap using one of their harnesses.

Nothing on the ORS website yet.

Very happy news indeed.

I wish I had the cash to get a 3.4L engine. Gotta get a bunch of little things repaired first though.

Any news on where the new base of operations will be? I used to go in and harass Mike and Una all the time since it was a mile from my house...

This is awesome since I picked up a 3.4 to replace my dead 22R... now to start saving every nickel and dime I can find. Dare I ask what the swap harnesses sold for in the past?

Equally good to hear another specialty shop is back in business!

Their old website is still up

http://www.offroadsolutions.com/index.html

3.4L Full Conversion Kit - Truck/4Runner
This kit includes all NEW parts necessary for the conversion, plus some additional items that are nice to have. This kit is VERY complete and is designed to prevent the customer from going to the parts store 20 times during the conversion. These parts are package priced to save the customer money in the long run. We highly recommend the Full Kit, if you want to perform a clean job & want to replace all service parts.
Parts Included: Manual | Automatic
Manual Transmission Full Conversion Kit - ORS-EC020 - $1740.00 SALE! $1640.00
Auto Transmission Full Conversion Kit - ORS-EC022 - $2285.00 SALE! $2185.00
*Orders on engine conversion kits may take up to 4 weeks to ship during our busy seasons due to the custom nature of the harnesses. All harnesses are built to order and we build them in the order that they are received.

Well I was thinking prices may be different since they're "re-opening" or whatever...

Since I have an 84, am I screwed? That says 85-88 EFI but mine is a carb'd POS 84.

I might have to get this puppy instead:

3.4L Conversion Standalone Wiring Harness
This is a stand alone harness that takes care of all the wiring when installing a Toyota 3.4L V6 into any make or model. Great for carburated trucks, rock buggies, other makes. Core charges may apply on some models.
Manual Transmission Standalone Wiring Harness - ORS-EC024 - $775.00 SALE! $675.00
Auto Transmission Standalone Wiring Harness - ORS-EC029 - $850.00 SALE! $750.00

So what's the differnce between those two kits (besides a few hundred bucks)? I'm talking parts-wise, what's different.

I'm happy to have had the ORS harness for my swap as well. I went to go buy the rest of the parts and they had gone out of business so it took a little longer just sourcing everything. I'm not convinced I saved any money doing it that way...
I'm glad ORS is coming back! Now it's time to start looking for my next 3.4 swap patient! I'm thinking 1st gen 4Runner V6 88-89...

Now if someone could start selling the downey style 3.4 Headers again that would be awesome...

I contacted them at the same time I contacted ORS (not knowing they were open again). This is what they answered:

"We Can build a harness for you, We would need your T100 auto Harness, and your 3.0 engine harness, as well as the T100 body harness plugs, $650 plus shipping."

In my humble opinion, even though ORS is charging me $100 more, my specific application is with the stock 4x4 tranny with a different ECU. Honestly, Im sleeping a lot better now that I know that a reliable company is making this harness. Also, ORS doesnt need the harnesses, except on specific applications, and they've been doing this for years, and Ive never heard anything bad from them. I know $100 dont come easy nowadays, specially where I live, but who said swaps are cheap! Heck, Ive been stuck for one year in this swap just because of money!!

But, of course, if anyone ever tries one of ToyOnlySwap's harnesses, let the community know how it works out!!
