Air intake temp sensor?

When I did my swap the 96 4runner I got my motor from was smashed on the whole passenger side. I didn't see it but I guess somewhere there should have be a Air Intake Temp Sensor (AIT). I have been getting code P0110 which is for this circut. But I can't find the plug for the sensor on my harness, and when I look at my EWD for the 96 4runner I see nothing about a AIT. Is it built into the MAF sensor? Where does it come out of the harness? What are the wire colors? I am thinking I will just put some ressistors in for now if I can at least find the wires. Does any have access to the Toyota EWD's so I don't have to pay another $15 just to check. Any help would be great.

The AIT sensor is built into the maf. Wire color depends on your year and model, but its in the diagrams, associated with the maf and the ecu page.

What terminal is it: THA, VG, E3, E2? What wire do you think i would splice it to, I would guess one of the splice wires is B+ or E2? Then add the ressistor between the 2 wires for a temparary fix. Could someone with a good MAF Check which terminals have around 2k Ohms of resistance (+ or - 1 K Ohms) through the MAF.

On the o'reilly auto parts web site it says I can get a air charge temerature sensor for the 96 4runner. But where is my plug, and why don't I see it on the EWDs? I will check the MAF and see if the THA to E2 terminals have the resistance they should.

MAF checked out at 2.2 k ohms between the THA and E2 terminals. Any other ideas on why I would be getting the P0110? I do have a cold air intake due to the fact that the 96 doner runner's air cleaner was not useable. I checked the MAF last night and it was very clean. I do have a little exhaust leak, could that be contributing? I have reset the code a number of times and it always comes back once the motor has warmed up. Could it be because the intake is getting hotter air from the engine compartment?

Check the pins carefully on the maf and in the connector. Perhaps loose due to the accident.

That is a good thought, I wanted to check my wires the other night but both my multimeters were at work. Thanks for trying to help out, any more ideas would be helpfull. Multiple heads is better than one!

No problem. Get some test leads long enough to connect one end to the terminal in the ecu and the other end to the pin in the connector at the maf. Continuity test baby! Will also let you know if you've connected the wrong wire to the right pin!!
