3.4 w/supercharger into 89 4 runner

hi folks,
i worked out some work trade with the local wrecking yard, and it just so happens that my 3.4L supercharger motor gets here on friday.

I've been doing alot of research before I get started, and have notice some conflicting info.

Its going into a stock 89 4 runner.
I've heard some rumors that I would need a 2 inch body lift for this swap to work. is this true and why.
I'm not using a kit , im using the oil pan of my 3.0 , and the wrecking yard had the crossover exaust for me.
let me know if there is a snag i might of overlooked.

thanks for all the help.

What crossover does the yard have for you?

The stock one won't work...

well.. sounds like you need to go over the 3.4 swap section, you'll need more than just the motor and stock crossover. The newer (after 2000) crossover cant' be modified as easily to fit, you'll need the 3.4 ecu, evap box, o2 sensors, engine wiring harness, maf sensor, just to name some of the stuff. The reason for the lift is because the engine is too tall to fit underneath the hood. Had you read a little more bud, you'd know that. Cutting the hood is another option. Are you planning on using your 3.0 clutch components? is the 3.4 from a manual tranny? Not sure you've researched enough. I read through the 3.4 swap section 4 times before i knew what i was doin, and before I even found a donor vehicle.

Like Vital said read through every thread. Seriously, but congrats on that find. You are going to really want to get your hands on every acc. under that hood. I didn't and my swap is taking way to long. But the basics are the ECU and harness from the donor vehicle in which your engine came from. Right there you will eliminate half the issues folks have with this swap. As for the crossover you will need it to exit out the drivers side and I doubt the one they have is doing that. Unless someone has already made the conversion (then why they selling it?)Other things you will need off of your old 3.0 are the oil sender, oil pan, pick up and splash plate. Throw out bearing, keep your 3.0 radiator. Charcoal canister is optional, I'm going with the 3.4 EVAP box. Other then that best luck. Wish I had a supercharger on mine that would be sweet.

sorry folk , i didnt give you enough info

the wrecking yard I'm getting the motor from specializes in these swaps. The motor I'm getting is from a 99 taco TRD with manual trans. a guy at the wrecking yard makes the crossover they gave me. I'm using the manual from my 3.0, buying a clutch kit for 3.4, and throwout bearing from a 3.0.
the wrecking yard is providing me with everything I need.
Its coming with all the acc. from the 3.4L including evap and all that stuff.
I was just hoping to get some info on the body lift.
also with the supercharger does that leave me with less clearance. thanks y'all

Yes, you will either need a body lift or hood modification to clear the SC as it does sit higher than stock.
