Wiring diagram for 96 Camry
Where can I find a wiring diagram? I need one for the radio, I'm trying to get a different stereo installed however the wiring in the "Haynes: Camry 1992 to 1996" is not correct for the 96 Camry I have. I have a 96 with a V6 that I'm trying to get it put in. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Sorry I don't have your wiring diagram, and seeing from the lack of replys I doubt anyone else does due to the fact that this is mainly a truck/suv forum. You might want to try a local car stereo shop, or crutchfield.com you can buy the harness or install kit from them and they will provide you with everything needed to install it. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forums.
As Krash mentioned, we mainly deal with trucks & SUVs here.
I saw this the other day on a forum. Perhaps it will help.

Yeah IMO your best bet would to go pickup a aftermarket wiring harness at a local car stereo shop. Heck I even think walmart carries them now (I was up there looking for one for my truck sat. morning). The reason why I say its your best bet is because you don't ruin the factory harness so when you go to resell the car you can take your replacement deck out and put the factory deck back in.

Assuming its not the "anti-theft" model, I'll go from memory, its:
Battery/memeory-blue with yellow stripe
12V with key-gray
ground-brown
LF speaker- pink and violet pair
RF speaker-light green and blue
LR speaker-red and white pair
RR speaker-black and yellow pair
illumination (12v with headlamps-dark green
ground for illumination via the rheostat-white wiht a green stripe
If its an anti-theft unit, let me know, you can still install an aftermarket system, just a little different procedure.

I am looking at upgrading my factory deck on my 91 Runner to a factory double din cd/tape/radio combo unit on ebay. The unit was available in 90-95 Camry, Supra, landcruiser etc. I currently have a basic factory tapedeck installed and i am concerned about one of the harness matching up because I also need to install the factory amp too. (The tape deck in the truck has an amp installed in it). I checked pictures of the backs of all the units and it looks like my connections/harness in my truck will match up with the plugs in the amp however, there is an long multi-pinned output plug from the reciever/combo unit that does not look familiar. I suspected it goes to the Amp but I am told it attaches to the harness in the vehicle. I like the look of the factory combo unit and i want something I can plug in and install . I don't want to rip my dash apart unless absolutly necessary to see if this other plug "might " be there. Any advice wether the stereo systems were compatible in all the vehicles or designed so they could be easily upgraded.
