*DISCLAIMER* Even though I try, sometimes I'm blind when it comes to searching**

Ok so I searched and searched but couldn't find any info. My 3.0 is running weird (idle is really low when stopped on an incline, any incline, even my driveway and even stalls sometimes) and my dad thinks it's the fuel pump. I looked but couldn't find it... Someone please tell me where it is!

Fuel pump for a 94 is in the gas tank, you have to drop the tank to get to it. And I'm no expert but I thought when fuel pumps were going you usually have problems with hesitation at higher speed, as the pump can't keep up with the demand.

There might be an access panel under the rear passenger seat to get at the fuel pump.

There is no access panel. You have to drop the tank. Or you can do like my brother did on his 1996 Camaro when it went through it's third fuel pump.... cut your own access hole in the floorboards!

The access panel is located under the rear passenger seat.
At least, on my '91 it is.

Really? My 95 doesn't have one. If I have to change my fuel pump though I'll certainly cut one.

Hey Dan~
My first thoughts would be to check the spark plugs and do a quick cleaning of the TB. Just a thought before you go through the hassle of messing with the fuel pump since these two can be done very quick and inexpensively...

I think he has a 4runner and you have a pickup, right?

Right there, under the seat, under that little flap of carpet, there should be another metal flap. Open that up and you're looking at the top of your gas tank. Undo the screws, and you should be looking at your fuel pump and sending unit. At least, on a 4runner you should.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sorry I wasn't back sooner, I was in Berekely for a friends graduation. I'm guessing from eric-the-red, the fuel pump isn't my problem, since the Runner is fine at high speeds... In fact, we cruised up to Nor Cal (400 miles) in about 6 hours with the AC on and it ran like a champ!

I had the head gasket done a few thousand miles ago, and got a tune up (changed plugs, wires, distributer and adjusted the timing), so I know it's not that. I also noticed last night that it's not restricted to inclines anymore, as it almost died while backing out of a parking lot. I just don't know what's up... My last guess would be the fuel filter since I've had the truck for 60k, and I'm sure the guy who put the original 94k never changed it.

I'll try that and see what happens...
