Oil filter part number

I recently picked up a case of Toyota oil filters for my wife’s 2002 4Runner. The parts guy gives me a case of oil filters with part # 08922-02011. A couple of days later I checked on the internet just to see if I got a good deal on the case but noticed a different oil filter number for the 2002 4Runners (90915-YZZB1). I went back to the dealership to exchange the filters and the parts guy assured me that the case that I have is correct and is the oil filter that their service department use on 4Runners. Has anybody else used this oil filter on their 4Runner?

I use 08922-02011 all the time. I have also used 90915-YZZ which is made in Japan and slightly smaller and the one that comes on the vehicle from the factory.

Thanks Jalaber,
Since 08922 does not come on the 4Runner from the factory, do you get a good fit around the seals to prevent any leaking?

Never had any leaks. It is made in the usa for the 4Runner and most dealers are going to stock this version. It is a little larger also. Which should be a good thing.

In that case, I will keep the case and use the filters. Thanks.

The YZZ implies it was manufactured in America.

Youll find it with brake pads also. DONT BUY the YZZ brake pads. They have to much metal content and squeak frequently.
