After reading about the TB cleaning with Seafoam, I found some today and cleaned mine in my 3.0 by pouring it into the brake booster vacuum hose. I also got some electric parts non-residual cleaner and sprayed some into the MAF sensor under the lid of the airbox. The cleaner said it left no residuals and was safe for plastic, but now, a few hours later, I have having terrible idle that still produces black smoke (I guess its running rich). How long does it take for the MAF sensor to go back to normal? Do I need to remove it and do something else to it?

Maybe try resetting your computer???
Do this by disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for ~10 minutes or so.
Just an idea.

After 1 hour it was still bad, but I just got back from town and after another hour or so, it cranked like it did back in '91. Thanks anyway....

you are getting black smoke?!

I was, but it was from the cleaning I did. I used seafoam in the vacuum and then sprayed the intake real good with a can of TB cleaner. That is what caused the black exhaust I think.

mine was more white then black but it took about 10 minutes of idle and 10 minutes of driving to finally clear all the smoke and restore my idle. Also after i ran seafoam i switchedo ut the spark plugs cause they got wicked filthy after the treatment of seafom. goodluck!

Thats cool- the seafoam did smoke white- wish i would have had the camera. I was in a classy neighborhood too Everythings back to normal now....
