99 4runner - Tune up Questions
Hey guys/gals!
I'm a newbie, but I am hoping that you all can help me gather some information:
I am getting ready to perform a tune-up on my 99 4runner. I have about 70k miles on it, and it's time to dig in. My dilemma is that because of the tune-up, I have the chance to do some minor upgrades as well. I am having trouble finding information on the 4runner regarding good products to use with the tuneup.
Do you all have any recommendations for general tune-up parts (spark plugs, filters, etc...) I do have an Amsoil air filter, and thanks to you all, I am very happy with it.
I did run a search but didn't find anything. Also, if you have websites to purchase the stuff any info at this point is good info.

I have always used the Stealer supplied OEM parts (plugs, fuel filter, etc). They have always served me well. I hear Conecilli (sp?) has pretty good prices, but there are some others that do as well.
I would stick with OEM.

I second the OEM plugs and fuel filter, and Amsoil for everything else. I bought a Hastings fuel filter and the damn thing would not seat properly. It leaked no matter how tight I cranked down the collar.

I would recommend the Bosche plus-4 plugs. I have had them in my runner since they came out and they work very well. I use Goodyear Gatorback belts. One of the best on the market. For oil I use Mobil 1 and the associated M109 filter. I would also recommend using the Toyota coolant if you are getting into replacing that as well. Just what I have found that works for me. I have 112,000 and it is still like new.
