22re expertise ASAP!
ok..i got it runnig, loping realll hard....shaking stuff loose hard. Adjusting any further than 10* BDC causes the truck to kill, but I havent adjusted the TPS yet..still figuring out just how to do that. BUT! my question is this: i shot a digitemp laser at my headers after 5 min of 'idling' (in the ' ears ' because its almost not even qualified as idling, it so freakin sparatic)
1 cylinder : approx. 495*F
2 cylinder : approx. 250*F
3 cylinder : approx. 500*F
4 cylinder: approx. 180*F
WHY are 2 and 4 much colder than 1 and 3? is this why its cutting out? Could the unkown green connector i have dangling in my intake side have something to do with it? after all, it does fit on the injector plugins. GOD im about ready to drop a match in this things gas tank. someone please help!

I'd recheck the injector connectors, you may have them crossed up or that connector you've been wondering about may have something to do with it. If I remember correctly, injectors 1+3 and 2+4 fire together in pairs...

no spark to cyl 2 an 4
All the reluctor in the distributor does is tell the coil when to fire the plug(s). I seem to recall you said you had some type of A/M coilpack set up. Sounds to me like the coil pack that fires cyls 2/4 is not working. Thats my gut feeling. if it is possible to swap coils try that and see if 2&4 now fire and 1&3 quit working. Also I have a FSM for that year if you need any info. I can copy/fax.

on vehickle spark test
Heres something i just found in the FSM.
ON VEHICLE INSECTION
SPARK TEST
NOTE: PERFORME THIS TEST TO CHECK THAT CURRENT IS COMING FROM THE DISTRIBUTOR.
1. Connect timing light to each spark plug (wire)
2. Crank engine and check that light flashes.
If timing light does not flash, check the wiring connections, ign. coil, igniter, distributor or ignition switch.
what they mean is hook up the light and move the end that wraps around the plug wire to each wire in order to check for a spark signal to the plug.
BTW this just occured to me check to make sure the plug wires for cyls 2 & 4 are not crossed on the cap or at the plug. Firing order is 1-3-4-2 that will definately cause it to run on 2 cyls only. HTH
