Replacing Engine Wiring Harness Tonight - Helpful Tips?

So long story short I cut my engine wiring harness on a curb right before the post-cat o2 sensor on my 96 t100 3.4l 2wd extended cab.

Ive temporarily fixed it twice over the last year with electrical tape.
At this point so much of the wire has been cut where it will be difficult to replace(one of the broken wires is the shielded wire for the o2 sensor). Emissions need to be done Tuesday, and i don't want to risk not being able to get it working with the acid core solder

so i ordered a new engine wiring harness. Should be at my house today. Plan on doing this swap tonight. I have the t100 maintenance manual, with the wiring diagram, but there are no illustrations or any thing about actually replacing the wiring harness.

That being said, does anyone have any good links or helpful tips to help me in my endeavor tonight? Ive been reading through engine swap threads, as they at least talk about the wiring harness. I know the ecu is on the passenger side kick panel, and between the 4 pages of wiring diagrams in the repair manual I THINK i can figure out everything the wiring harness has to connect to.

not looking foreward to this, but at the same time if i can get it done right and quickly(this is my dd, i have to drive it to work tomorrow) then ill be happy with myself.

First...you should be using rosin based solder fer that work.

Create an account here and download all the manuals on yer truck including the all important electrical manual.

Also, try to git some help...it's good to have an extra pair of eyes to help along.

Layout the new wire harness and git an idea of where it's supposed to go. If you have to take piccies and label them...then do so.

I don't mean to question your plans.....but why are you replacing the entire engine harness with damage downstream of your 2nd O2 sensor? Would it not be better to just repair the wires downstream of the damage???? Seems like alot of headache.

you're blowing this out of proportion, fix the wires that go to the O2 sensor and be done with it. MAX $20 fix, and that's if you have to buy a soldering iron.
