Wiring an Inclinometer

Recently ordered an Inclinometer and i was wondering, where do people usually wire it up to.

Kind of a rookie at electrical stuff, so any help would be greatly appreciated

There is a connector on the factory harness you plug into. Just drill the hole big enough to fit the connector on the inclinometer through. Pretty simple!

Oh ok. To mount the actual peice, does it require any drilling?

Not sure, but I think all the mounting holes may be there, if not a couple of screw holes should do it:

Another question. Never really ripped the dash apart before, where abouts is the factory harness located?

Wonder if someone can clarify for me and this thread, the dash between 88 and 89 changed to the new style so will it fit on the new dash? Or was this even an option in 89?? If not an option I would imagine the harness is not there to tap into? I have been looking into getting one but wondering if it will even mount up?

I know the Dash of the pickup's changed so i'm not too sure about that. My buddy with a '94 pickup has one mounted though, not sure if it had a stock slot or he had to make a mount for it.

I have an '89 4Runner and my $39 inclinometer fit the dash fine. My dash is pristine, with no cracks anywhere. I did not drill any holes. I don't care if it lights up because I won't be wheeling at night. It may seem chessy but I installed it with two strips of industrial strength Velcro. It looks fine.

I don't know if you've purchased the inclinometer but the mount is a U shaped piece of metal. A lot of the inclinometers on eBay don't include the mount or the wire harness/plug. You can probably still rig it without the metal. If your truck harness is not ready for the plug you can tap into the the wiring for the lighter.
