reverse lights always on...

does any one know what i could possibly do to fix my 87 4runner so the
reverse lights are NOT always on??

First off welcome.
There should be a switch on the side of the trans that could be faulty. Should have 2 wires that connect to it.

cut the wires? lol, other than that i couldnt tell ya... OH OH there are 2 plugs down there, one for your reverse lights, the other for the 4wd indicator on your dashboard. unplug one and see what happens. and welcome.

Unpulg the switch, its the one on the pass side of the trans. I belive the 4WD indacator is on the Tcase. If its the switch the lights should go off, use a jumper wire to connect them and they should come back on. If that works you need a new switch, theyre like $20 and just about any parts store should have it. Very easy fix.
