and to add to alexjet, a con is that one of my friends ripped off his lights bc he was offroading at my friends ranch and tore the lights completely off... though i still do plan on getting some.

I have two Hella 500's coming off the back of my rack.

I ran the wires down the rack and across the factory rack to the rail (I need to get a nice weatherproof plug to replace the wire connectors but that's besides the point).

I drilled a hole through the back of the end cap on the factory rail and drilled a hole through the drain plug that is located underneath the factory end cap.

Then I ran my wires through the drain plug and along the headliner, down the side pillar, along the floor board and through the firewall and wired up the relay and everything under the hood. After you run all the wires and have everything zip tied off put some silicone in the drain plug all around the wires so that no water can get in there. I've had mine wired up for over a year now and haven't had any issues with water leaking or anything.

I got the idea on this site somewhere, so there should be a thread with a full write up somewhere.

These set ups look great! I'm not sure which way to go though, I would like to have the wiring as stealthy as possible. So, I would probably go through the roof with them and across the headliner like some of you did.

I have another couple of questions for you guys. Forgive my "newbie-ness"..... What does a relay do, and why not just wire it directly with a switch and to the battery? Why use an auxiliary battery?

For a direct wiring you'd need an HD switch. Most switches can't handle over 10amps. Wiring 2 circuits help divide low current through the switch and high current to the lights. Its easier and safer. Plus you can customize by making the lights switch in different manner.
Routing via aux battery will keep your battery safe. Ideally you'd have starting battery you start your truck with and a deep cycle one for running all accessories. I prefer the second way. PM me your email and I can give you more details on my setup.

you can solve the problem of hood glare from the lights by simply putting electrical tape over the bottom of the lights. it doesn't affect the brightness much but it definitely reduces the glare on the hood.

This is just about exactly wat ive been thinking bout doing... I just ordered my proline rack so hopefully ill be getting it in the mail and up on the runner shortly.

Well, as many of you might know, I've built myself a roof rack out of discarded retail racks. I've mounted the lights to it, and now waiting to run the wiring through the roof, and down the headliner. I've got driving lights in the back, and back-up lights in the back which will be tied into the stock back-up lights.
