Installing new Viper alarm

My rig was originally owned by an idiot who had his Viper alarm removed. He had brought it in for maintenance at some shop and forgot to disable his alarm. Once the mechanics set it off, he couldn't remember how to disable it and had them rip the brain of the system out instead.
Now that my rig is safely out of his hands, I'm looking to reinstall the alarm. The system currently installed (or whats left of it) is a Viper 800HF, which I can find very little info on. Are there any alarm experts out there who know if it is possible to put a brain from a newer system into the existing setup? All of the wiring is intact, and so is the valet switch mounted in the cabin. I'd like to preserve all that and save myself as much work as possible, but I don't know if it can be done.

Thanks for any help i get!

Well most of the wires are going to run to the same places, but I doubt the connections and terminals would be the same for the new alarm. So you will have wires running to the right places, but i bet a new alarm would probably have a brain that uses different connections.

I personally would just re-wire to make sure it was done right
