I have cab lights on top of my truck, and it is a 1986 2wd 1ton truck, was this factory for these trucks? Or a custom modification? And are these suppose to come on from the column switch or another switch, I just bought the truck and have not been able to get them to come on. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that clearance lights on top of a cab was never a toyota factory option. I've been around these trucks a long time and I don't recall seeing one that had cab clearance lights. I'm currently rebuilding my 86 and my replacement cab came from an 87dual wheel 1 ton. No clearance lights, column shift auto.
If yours has them then I'd almost bet that they were added by one of the previous owners. Check and see who made them, if they are Nippon-Denso then they might be factory, but I think you will find that they are either from one of the Big3 US truck manufacturers or they are a company like Grote, Dominion, etc which is the North American aftermarket.
The clearance lights in most trucks are part of the park / tail light circuit and come with your light switch in either the park or headlight position.
