Headlights off randomly, switch replacement

My father in law has an 84 4runner. The headlights will randomly cut out...nothing really seems to set them off. A quick turn on the switch gets them back on. He's replaced the relay with no effect so he's pretty sure it's in the switch itself. (headlight/blinker on left of column, cruise/wipers on RT)

Anyone ever broke the column down and fixed this?

Any other ideas before we hunt down a switch?

Could you guys point me to a good parts supplier in the southeast...used or new?

Try cleaning the contacts in the headlight/combo switch:
