Automatic door locks, which wire?
I've been trying to find out what to cut to turn off the automatic door locks on my 93 4 runner. This is when the key is turned on and all doors will lock. I do not want to completely wipe out the power door locks that all the swithces control, just the automatic crap.
So I looked at the FSM yesterday which is here and what I deduced is that the #8 wire in the wiring harness for the door control relay should control this. So I go out and cut the wire, turn the key on, and it locks me in again--but now none of my power windows work.
I spliced it all back up again but maybe someone else has an idea as to what I should disconnect this time.
It should be the ignition wire. Cutting the ignition wire should not cut power to the windows. Why it is so difficult???

I don't think you have to cut any wires, there is a way to program the door locks with the remote, I have a pdf file I can email you if you would like, it is for a 2000, but it may help you out some.

for last resort....
look at the ignition harness and look for any wire (~18-16guage) that goes from there to the alarm unit. possibly yellow wire.
