1986 toyota 22r wiring problems

SO. The other day the ground cable going from my battery to the block frayed badly enough to where the vehicle wouldnt start. So i went and got a new wire and got it all hooked up. It works fine. BUT, there was another wire on the ground cable that led up to a mess of wires going into the fender. It was brown/tan with a black stripe through it. I was wondering if any of you knew what this went to? It had the round, stock connectors on it so i dont think its some oakie job that someone did. Thanks for the help.

Are you sure of the color??

Maybe White with a black stripe

It could be this wire has been carrying to much of the load and has turned brown from being burnt

Are you talking about a plastic connector or a ring terminal??

It should go to one of the bolts in the inner fender

I just use Marine battery terminals and run a heavier cable to the body

No, its definitely a tan wire with a black stripe through it. Its on the ground cable from the battery to the block, this is why im confused. Yes, its one of the round plastic connectors. And it goes through a grommet into the fender, this is why im unable to follow it.

Too dark out right now. I will in the morning. Have any of you guys heard of a wire like that? I really dont know why there would be a ground wire on the same spot that the battery grounds out on the block... It goes from the block to a connector near the fusebox, then into a cluster of wires that moves inside the fender

Everything seems to be working from what I can see... i havent driven much since i did this though. Ive been trying to think of what it could have possibly been connected to at one point, but im coming up with blanks

I have not had a carbed truck in years now.

The last one I had I always upgrade the ground cables pretty much run one to the body one to the block and one to the frame.

The frame one to give me a good ground at the rear of the vehicle

Toyota in these years pretty much uses white / black stripe as ground wires.

I have never seen a ground connection with a plastic connector sort of defeats the purpose.

Last owner added some goodies of there own??

Hard to say unless you drove the truck off the lot brand new.

That was the only thing that came to mind. Maybe an old oakie stereo hookup? But it does have stock plastic connectors on it so im really not sure...
