Westin Bull Bar rigidity?

I have a Westin Ultimate Bull Bar mounted to my 2007 4Runner. It is mounted with the hardware included, and done properly. When I put some weight on it and shake, it does indeed shake. No play, just a little flex. when I mount driving lights to it, will I have a nice area of wiggly light in front of me, or does the bar stay put unless you stand there and shake it?

Once you have the weight of the lights on it, any jarring of the suspension will make it shake, at least that's my experience when I had one. On road it wasn't too bad. Off road it was intolerable for me. IMHO, they're for looks.

Actually what I think I'm going to do is duct tape a good flashlight to the bar and see what the beam looks like while I drive.

Nah, duct tape TWO flashlights and just leave them there... That would be a whole lot cheaper...

I use SureFire flashlights, so leaving them there would not be wise!

Use some zip ties to firm them up...but seriously, you will get some vibration on any grill guard due to some frame flex. Some much more than others. On my '05's ARB bumper that is bolted to the frame in 12 places I can see the top bar of the bar vibrate a little, but my lights don't dance around like they did on the POS ebay thing I made the mistake buying.....

I just installed Hella 500 driving lights on the Bull Bar. They're solid on normal roads but they wiggle a little going over moderate road bumps and rough pavement. I haven't been offroad with them. I suppose its normal and I'll deal with it until someday when I get a real aftermarket bumper...

Mine is coming off once I put my BL on. Then I'll just mount the light on the bumper until I get a TJM. I think I'm gonna clean up the brush guard, repaint it, then sell it on ebay! Anyone looking for one?

Most of my offroad is beach and forest, nothing insane, so I think I'll be ok for a while. The bullbar (and my rear tow hook) has actually saved my bumper a few times so far from inconsiderate/uncaring parkers, so I'm in no rush to get rid of it yet. A new bumper is near the bottom of the "Things For Me" list, behind the "Things For The House" and "Things For My Wife" lists

The lights also fit in there kinda tight! I need to rotate the covers a little to get them off. I'll try to get some pics later.
