Waterlogged My 4Runner - But it runs now
Today I pulled a bonehead move...
Here in Phoenix we got some good monsoon storms last night and decided to do a little parking lot running; only it was a small lake. If you look at my signature you will see something that I probably should have put on before deciding to do this little trek.
3/4 the way through the truck died and we coasted to the other side. Well, the truck would not even crank and I knew I gave my truck too big of a drink of water.
A friend gave us a ride home and we got the tool kit, the wife drove me back to the truck we and pulled the plugs to see how bad it was. After pulling the spark plugs, I had the wife crank it over and water shot out of 3 cylinders like a fountain I know of in Newport Beach, CA. Not a good sign...
We got the water out of the cylinders, shook out about another 2 cups of water out of the Airbox Silencer and put the plugs back on the truck and hooked up everything. It took some coaxing, but she finally started and ran as sooth as glass. I drove her home which is about a 1/2 hour on the freeway and let her idle after pulling into the garage just to see if there were any other strange noises that weren't there before the "Love Boat" set sail. All sounds good so far.
My question to the group, has this ever happened to anyone else and should I worry about any long term effects that I might look out for in the future???
Please let me know...thanks!

It was the Deck Plate Mod that killed me. The airbox had enough water in it for me to put goldfish in there. That water drained out on its own.
I am pretty sure that I got the water out before any rust had time to form in the cylinders.
The 1/2 hour drive home should have burned out anything in the crankcase.
That was my question for the group.
