I was planning on seeing if I could get a pan hard drop kit from sschaefer3 for my 3rd gen., but after seeing the price, decided to see if I could have my dad fab me up one at his shop. I showed him the picture of the one sschaefer3 made, and showed him the pan hard drop components, and he came up with a bracket that utilizes 2 bolts on the bracket to bracket side and of course the mount on the bottom to the bar. By having the 2 bolts on top, it prevented any pivoting that may happen with not welding or installing another cross bar for stabillity. So far the bracket has held strong off road, and I no longer stuff one rear tire up in the well. No matter what way you go about it, it's definatly worth doing if you have a susp. lift.

This "crossbar", or plate the was supposed to keep it from pivoting is the thing that broke on my bracket. I'm thinking about trying to beef it up by welding it back together then putting an 8th inch piece of steel over it and welding it together pretty good. Dunno if it will hold and if it doesn't i may try downey's 3" drop or all pro's 5" lift bracket for the other side.

Allpro already figured it out. They have a panhard lift bracket.

You are correct- but it's lifted FIVE inches! Also it's $149 for just the lift bracket- that's double the price of Steve's bracket.

Talking Panhard Drop Bracket

Notice the top hole so that I can, and did, take it back to stock position without having to remove the bracket. Looks OEM all the way!

This guy figured it out too:

Oh wait, that's me

In all fairness, I dropped on top too so I could split the difference:

Obviously I am running more lift than 99.99% of 3rd gens out there but you get the idea. This is a really easy thing to fab guys, anyone that considers themselves a "weekend warrior" should be ashamed if you spent good money on one. Clearly Steve's is the best deal on the market but i'm sure even he would tell you it doesn't take him but 5 minutes to whip one up. I gotta know how much money Steve makes with this stuff. If it is even half what I make at my job I am totally quitting and going into the ridiculously easy to fab parts business...
