EFI Fuel Pump Bracket Question

I just got a new tank since my old one had a couple cracks it. The new tank is larger capacity so that means my fuel pump bracket is too short to reach the bottom of the tank.

To make it work I am going to weld in a section to the existing bracket to make it longer. (the welding will be done far from the gas tank)

My question is, will it be ok to leave the return line on the bracket the same length or is there any reason that I should lengthen that too?

I don't really see what it would hurt to leave it alone but I just thought I'd see what someone else has to say on the matter.

Here is a pic of the line I'm talking about.
