A Crazy Idea

My buddy has a 1988 Mighty Max for those of you who dont know its mitsubishi's ifs pickup from the 80's/90's same as the dodge d50. anyways it has a lot of sentimental value and hes put countless hours of work into it and now he wants to sas it.

My Idea: cut the front end off, weld on the front hangers and brackets from a sfa yota which will probly require some fabbing and stuff. then just throw a heep axle under there like a dana 44 (driver's drop) the only thing i dont know about is steering...? the brake lines are workable, we could fab for shocks and shackle mounts, he knows about dshaft compatability with the heep axles.

so what do you guys think? i know im over-simplifying it a little but i think it could work we have a shop we could work in and equipment to fab. i have a decent amount of fab experience and pretty good knowledge of suspension works.

im open to any suggestions

Hell anything is possible. You could drop in a v8 and Dana 60's if you wanted too. Since yer fabbing everything for the SFA you can fab up the Yota steering to go with it. Probly have to make the steering shaft. Should be able to Frankenstein it together. As long as you know its gonna be alot of work, time, and some $$$. As long as everything is lined up and strong should be good to go!! DO IT!!

Isnt Ford drivers side drop? If I remember correctly my old Chevy's were passenger side diff. I think the earlier Jeeps used a push pull system. May not be the best but probly simplest.
