Calling Diesel Heads- Toyota OEM oil centrifuge

Howdy Mates:

I read somewhere - 9month or more past - that Toyota was installing an oil Centrifuge on either 1KZ-TE or the new 1KD-FTV

Anyone know anything of what I am speaking of

Land Rover has a supplemental centrifuge on the TD5 - spindle requires replacement at scheduled intervals

Cheers in advance

Mercedes diesel trucks have one. I thought it was just those crazy Germans since they love to make weird stuff. Don't know anything about Toyota.

Howdy Adam:

many of the large lorry types as well as big diesel - locomotive etc. use these - I have a large one to be fitted to my full size pickup - the return pipe to sump pan is 3cm - over and inch - so as not to stall centrifuge - powered by oil pressure 3- 5 bar

a bit big for me to install to a 4 banger diesel

i am certain I read a few posts somewhere - Hilux AU. site is still down - joined the Offroad Pakistan forum - those guys know diesel engines-

Land Rover has a supplemental one on the TD5 engine - is supplemental - spindle replaced at scheduled intervals - filters to 3 micron - works in tandem with main can filter - many seem to think it would not be possible to retro fit onto different vehicle as is specific to TD5 oil cooler

i dig the idea of filtering down to near blood corpuscle size and never have to worry about recycling an oil filter

will share what I find out :

Cheers:

Howdy Roy;

Do you ask on Toyota or Land Rover - I am only certain TD5's have -
it should look like a tiny grain silo - maybe the size of a tea cup - most probably mounted/attached same side as oil pressure sender OR where oil cooler is mounted to side of block- same side as intake manifold

Cheers
