88 22r float adjustment HELP!!
I just rebuilt the carb on my 88 22r and before the rebuild it would go dead when the nose of the truck went down (braking or sitting on a down grade)
and would hessitate when the secondary opened up and also VERY rich at idle and idling rough when at all.
I rebuilt the carb and now and everythign inside of it was all gummed up and stuck together. But now the carb is still running EXACTLY the same.
Now to the main question other than whats wrong with the truck!!
I adjusted the float exactly how the kit said 9.8MM with float up and 48mm with float down. After I installed it and got it running (have to dump gas down the carb to make it start) I looked at the float glass and its completly full. so i pull the top of the carb off and adjust it up some more and still FULL.
I pulled it back down again and raise it up to about 15mm up and I can now see the fuel line buts its still above the centerline. And is still running exactly the same.
Very sorry for the long post, I just cannot find help anywere else. I hope someone can help.
Thanks
