I just picked up a 88 Toyota Dually truck for work... It has a 4 speed trans and I wanted to swap it for a 5 speed... Maybe get a few more MPG on the highway...

I hear the trans from the Turbo truck are the strongest. R151F? Correct?
Are they only 4X4?
Can you put a 2WD output on a 4WD tranny?
Does any one have gear ratio for the 4 speed and 5 speed to compare?
Trying to do this on the cheap (of course)....

You can find a 2wd turbo 5sp....but they are VERY rare.

I have driven both 4speed and 5speed trucks. I actually prefer to 4speed for MPG's, but the 5speed is great for hauling.
