I don't think you can set a default to stop that box from popping up. I've never seen it not pop up on any vBulletin system I hang out on.

The box that pops up can be disabled in your profile settings.

As to the question at hand, there isn't a way.

I think he's talking about the box that pops up as you send a PM - at least that's the one I'm referring to.

The option in the User CP is about the box that pops up if you get a PM while you're browsing the forum.

to clarify, I ALWAYS want a read recepit on my PM's, I ALWAYS want to see the you have 0 confirmed and a 2 uncomfirmed message receipts, that tells me if the person read it or not...I used to get it, when you send a PM the box pops up and says request read receipt? and you could click ok or cancel, I dont get that box anymore...I have to check a little box at the bottom under miscelaneous options to get a read receipt on each individual message...I want my pop up read receipt box BACK! Any ideas?

That feature may not be available anymore, but I know what you mean.
I always used it before.

The authors of this software constantly make changes to it, so one thing that worked before may not be available in the next version.

and let me guess... we are "forced" to updated and swallow the new "features" for fear of not getting "required" security updates?

Yes, we are required by our host here to keep our software updated.

You saw that we went down over the weeked, this effected not only us, but many other customers with Scott too since many of us are on this box here.
