thicker oil

is it better to run a thicker oil in a rig then what it calls for. I have a 3.slow

I run Amsoil 10w30 instead of 5w30 because it reduces valve chatter. A lot of people run slightly thicker oil in high mileage engines (like me w/ 200K) because it wont seep through worn rings/seals as bad.

i use 10 40 on my car and my car runs great on it. alot better my toyota has 10 30 tho i might go full synthetic soon on the truck. my car idc lol it runs on what it runs haha

10/30 dino. As i said now 05/30 syn mix Valvoline, i know its subtle, but i was bored and had visions of 10-20 + hp gain.

used 10/30 synthetic, i've tried 5/30 synthetic and it always gave me really low oil pressure, went to 10/40 last week to try that out. my oil cap says to use 15/40 but thats some thick stuff.

excuse my ignorance lol... i infact do not have a 3vze oil cap on my motor... it sould say 10/30 lol....

You put in exactly what toyota says to put in at the specified temps. Nothing more.

A very good oil read is (google) (Ferrarichat / Dr.Ali E. Hass).
