Speedometer going crazy and AC dripping in cabin?
I just got my 90 Ext. Cab 4x4 22RE yesterday. It's running great...but have a couple issues that I just noticed while driving it today.
Speedometer was fine until I left a restaurant tonight, and it just goes up extremely fast. In 1st gear it will say I'm up to 40-50mph and by time I'm in 3rd it says I'm going 110. I've done a number of searches on here and all signs point to the speedometer cable. I also found that it is on the transfer case. Me being a total newb, I'm not sure exactly where the transfer case is or what it looks like. Can somebody give me a more detailed description or a pic perhaps?
I had the AC on while I was driving around today and noticed some water dripping on the passenger floor under the glovebox. It was cold so I'm assuming it has something to do with the AC. I also just washed the car today. Is it possible some water just accumulated near the AC from the wash and dripped until it was gone?
Thanks! Sorry if I'm dumb, I'm trying to learn .

AC... duh, WATER in the cab is prolly a dirt dobbers nest in the pee tube...
Takes a zip tie to fix...
And lube your cable and see if that helps.

Thanks for the pointers. I'm assuming that picture is of the transfer case and the speedo cable. Is that near the front wheels or rear?
Also, I'm not sure what the pee cable is.

Speedo cable location, passenger side, under the cab, look for the rear driveshaft (the big round steel thing running to the rear axle) and right next to where that bolts up to the transfer case is where the speedo cable is. Picture below is what you are looking for:
And yes, the driveshaft is not connected in the above photo, likewise, the exhaust is not hooked up and likely other stuff is different, but the speedo cable is connected to the transfer case. Not sure when the change was, but at some point in the early '90s models, the mechanical speedo was replaced with a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) that bolted into that same location and had wires connected to it:

Thanks 4crawler! I think I'll be able to find it now. What is the correct way to lube the cable? Will I have to take the dash apart? Or should I just replace the cable?

Well, I got under there and found it and I was able to unscrew it easily by hand. Is it possible it was acting crazy because the connection was loose? I spun the cable by hand and it seemed to rotate smoothly with no binding. So I screwed it back in nice and tight and it's working normally now.
