Shifting into 4WD?

How slow (if not stopped like my ranger) do i have to be going to shift from 2hi to 4hi?

Stopped .. only in a ford. You can shift it in or out safely at speeds up to 55-60 mph.

But if you want to go to 4lo you have to stop and shift to neutral.

I run 2L aot durring traffic, Kinda fun and keeps the front diff lubed.
I shift from 2L to 2H at like 35 where its revedout in 5th it goes real easy no grind.
Have to be stopped to go 2H to 2L

Note: you need manual hubs to do what voodoo describes above.

How fast is it safe to move in 4lo? I've heard that you need to be going insanely slow or you can damage the front diff.

You can't damage the front diff by going fast in low range. It goes twice as fast in high range.... I've gone 35 mph in low range, which is sorta equivalent to 80 mph in high range. Sorta because the wind resistance is nowhere near the same, so the engine isn't working as hard.
